Me! - Mcken Wong

Writing has been one of Mcken's greatest passions, enhanced only by the prospect of being a professional, of the possible opportunities for his writings to impact others.

He wrote his first book when he was 11, about two superheroes saving the world, albeit in a tattered blue notebook now kept in his mother's drawers. At that moment in time, he thought of it only as a hobby, somewhat different from collecting stickers and stamps - but he was never encouraged to use this particular flair for a living.

Life took him on paths that were challenging and confusing, something which contrasted deeply with Freya Madeline's famous quote on doing things that make you happy. He is grateful and thankful however, for eventually getting the support he needed to pursue his dreams.

In 2010, he left halfway through his chemical engineering degree at the University of Queensland, in order to pursue journalism.

He has never looked back since.
